Is that the worst of it for us in the north west then? :sorry:

No, it is supposed to get worse from now on until late evening. Winds due to moderate overnight. Met Office have gusts peaking around 9pm on their forecasts for the NW.

Regarding hotcuppas post earlier today the maximum upper temp low we get here is -8 surely this is enough. Doesnt the dam hav a say though?

-10 uppers would be better -8 is enought but all depends on DP and all other factors, without sounding like a broken record

dont get excited about the next 24 hrs a wintry mix for low ground, high ground may get a covering

Very powerful gusts, exceeding 70mph, peak around 6-9pm before slowly easing off.

Debris flying all over, roof tiles dancing around and I don't like the way the front windows are buffeting about.

Why don't you move to Runcorn then. Most boring place in the world.

That was a very powerfull gust. I never know that tree in our garden could bend back that far. Made me think of that cartoon where the character uses a tree as a slingshot.

Well i think we got up to about 40mph today was expecting more and has gone pretty quiet outside with the odd 20 - 30 mph gust was expecting a bit more. Is this is it now for Manchester?

Tomorrow is looking more marginal now if the 12z is anything to go by, any snow probably similar in nature to what we had on Monday, but we'll see!

Been boring here today in Salford.

Max gust was 42MPH - rain was torrential before but besides that, it's been quiet.

We can only hope things change at some point but I'd be lying if I said the possibility of going through the whole winter clutching at straws like this but nothing more hasn't crossed my mind. :(

Aye it's no way to live a winter, I'm only ~50% sure we'll see a change to colder weather in January

I'm confident we'll see some falling snow.

But I really can't believe I've not recorded a gust over 29mph today............

I'm a bit dubious of his recordings TBH. I've had my garden furniture moved by the wind today; it's been extremely gusty- especially before the CF passage

60mph is an event, as it's rare we get winds that strong. The South coast recorded higher wind than I did today..

Stupid NMM.
