In fact I'm not quite sure what has set off this afternoon's little bit of activity as the standard charts aren't exciting - need a Nick F type of member to explain the current set up. Thursday looking a little better, I'll look at the chances again tomorrow if I get half a mo!!!!

Fantastic though Coast, I am probably guessing the cold polar air is hitting the rising warm dry air from the ground?? The sun was out this morning, so may have helped convection.

Must be something like that as its still glorious sunshine here in Benny Hill, much as it has been of recent.

A while ago we had a lovely heavy shower with a touch of thunder. It is looking quite stormy here at the moment, a welcome return I say!

Someone has reported hail in chertsey over on our fb page, so that would tie in with the same cell I'd imagine.

Your Norwood aint you? aim towards 280/290* and that's the Cell that's just coming over me now... it looks very likely to go bang any second now, no precipitation as of yet but can see some in the distance. Does look pretty nasty, getting darker now...

I heard a distant rumble, which was the one London City have likely reported... still a lot more activity to come by the looks of things. But probably in the form of nimbostratus...

Lots of convection in the sky today but not so much as a tiny 2 minute light drizzle.

Bit of hail mixed in a shower earlier around 5pm, first precip for what seems like an eternity.
