Still raining here in Bootle Hot cupola do you know if that Liverpool airport forecast would apply to us?

Nice covering here now! Is it due to get heavier?

The warm front appears to be hardly moving now so yes.

According to the models and Met office forecasts yes, but its worrying that places not that far west at reasonable altitudes its turning to rain early.

This was always forecast as a rain-----> snow event so why people are worried that many places have rain is confusing me. At around 3pm the uppers should be favourable to produce snow.

Starting snowing here in Marple(east Stockport) 30 mins ago - on and off but some quite big flakes and starting to cover surfaces.Hope the cold front helps the rain turn to snow for those in the west

actually it was only the coastal strip that was forecast for rain not places further inland like hale / runcorn..forecast was for snow, becoming heavy this afternoon and for which the forecast still stands..as for the coast, then the crosby forecast is what it will be

Bare in mind the situation is constantly changing, as you can see from this morning.

Surely it stands to reason that milder uppers would be pushed across the region as the colder air moves in, which will temporarily cause rain to fall across the region, before the whole region experiences snow?

Maybe because the ppn is too light over those areas ?
