Had mainly frozen rain this morning. It looked like it was turning to snow for a few minutes and then changed back. Not really got anything now. I can't see any snow for northwich today. Oh well, had a feeling it would be a none event here.

Dew = -2

I said that there was absolutely no chance of it being freezing rain here and look what's happened lol.

Update for st. Helens (haydock end) its raining and ice on the road. The rain isn't heavy and seems showery. I think the chances are now gone.

I'll update if anything changes.

It's been ruddy well stuck over me for the past two hours, enjoy!

No change here - temps ~0c and drizzle. icicles are getting bigger, hanging from the edge of all surfaces.

Yes the Amber warning extension was a bit OTT, but it does state for areas away from the the west coasts. Even thats very optimistic atm.

as SJ said earlier there is plenty of interesting times to come in the next 16 hours or so, and we are only 2 hours into it

Still snowing but not very heavy, it was never forecast to be heavy until later this afternoon.

confirmed freezing rain here now, now that's definitely a first for me. Plant leaves frozen over in rain droplets and we got a plastic sheeting covering a bench which you can actually hear the water freezing instantly upon impact. I only risked heading out with the camera in the garden for 10 minutes in the end as I didn't want to risk getting frozen water in the len

where is it going to come from tho HC,the band looks to be weakening all the time now and i certianly have seen nothing approaching heavy.

added to that its incerdibley marginal for even the east nowt about the poor west if the region.
