Finished up with arond 3 inches - 11cm here. Best event since Feb 2007! Now that we're finished and forgotten with this one (Well East staffs westward) are we going to focus in on the models of today which looked fairly good? Discussion of a battleground event midweek? Aj? Blizzards? Snow norfolk and chance? etc.

They're two different measurements, 3 inches = 7.5cm :p

My friend has just told me there are big, juicy flakes in Coventry now, so I'm off out for a walk to experience it when it hits here. Will report back after. :)

I left school 5 years ago, but I thought 3cm equated to 1 inch! haha. Blimey, all this from a law student as well.

Seems to be that for the first time in a long time the midlands has done better than many probably hoped. heres for hoping the easterly sets back in from tomorrow so it stays around until the next blast

Yep, the last snow event I can remember where the Midlands came out best was the Feb 2007 one. I'm pretty pleased, and I hope our more eastern members will have a good evening's snow too. :)

About an inch in untouched places here so can't grumble though :) Thaw may set in soon though if we get the +3 forecast during the night by the bbc :)

Just been out for another walk...cars stuck everywhere.

We're near the end now...just as things become marginal. Brilliant event!

Been much heavier in Burbage for the last half hour. Just measured at 6cm on the level. Looking at satellite i would hope for a further 3-4cm if not more.

Best snow event I can remember for here.

Midlands wide there are probably slightly better events within recent years, but Leicester/Notts has never done well out of any of the decent events of the past few years.

Il go by your measurements for tonight lol you sound like your actually measuring properly ive been estimating. based on the fact theres more of the heavier precip to the north west than the south east i think 10cms could easily be achievable.

So this is the point where we go back through our moaning and groaning through December and January and see how silly we were!

So winter wasn't over then!

I've just been outside, the snow is getting even heavier; I don't remember the last time it was this heavy. Measured depths up to 7cm and increasing fast.
