Amazing - EPIC sized snowflakes falling. If it had snowed like this for the last 12 hours it'd be half a metre high.

Snow getting heavy now with around 5cms already -this could be doubled considering we have sometime yet where more will fall quite heavily-looking at the radar and forecasts.

Posters further East in the region still have the best to come i feel.

On the nottingham city transport website it says most roads in city are at a standstill... And buses are stuck all over place. This is even before the big orange blob hits. Strange as loads of salt has been spread

Tbh I don't know why they bother with salt... It never really seems to work.

You got a pic u could show us

No, am on iPad and not a clue how to do a screen shot but assume it is doing the same for anyone who looks? Certainly showing a fair bit of sleet now unless it is just messing up now because officially it shouldn't be available to non payers like me.

Main roads very tricky even here! Just back from the Vic in Beeston ( plug for best pub in E.Mids) - piling down! Maybe 3" ... Temp. 0.4c. Worse to come on radar. We NEVER get this!

Drizzly rain now but luckily it's pretty much cleared away so fingers crossed temperatures don't rise to much now so theres still something in the morning!

Just started to turn to sleet here — wonderful run though. Snowing since noon, and we have several cm on the ground — everything white. Local roads not gritted, but they are B roads, so maybe the council is focused on the A roads.

Met office has upgraded for here. Still showing heavy snow at 12, but has changed from 'Mist' to 'Light Snow' at midnight. I hope we start seeing some bigger flakes, I want to go for a walk if it does. :p

Intensity definitely picking up here as the orange blob edges over us. Flakes still an uninspiring size, like a 5pence piece.

Probably 3 to 4cm now. Closer to 3 if I was to go and measure i'd think.

Went out to get some milk from the local Co-Op it's as high as the curbs, you can't tell where the curb ends and the road begins! Never thought i would get this much, it's still going heavily as well!

Shouldn't be too long. Members just to the west of us are seeing the heavier snow.

Without a doubt one of the best snow events since Feb 2007. Flakes here are huge, could very well end up with about 6 inches by the end of the night.

still going strong, close to 10cm now little bit more maybe before it finishes, could reach 12cm maybe 15cm in line with most predictions., very impressive really, but have take into context against last last Dec 63cm max, although was a 25 year event.

temps now up to -0.8 so still hopefull of an ice day here. dropped to -9.6 at 6.55am so with a bit luck should be below 0 all day.

:good:
