Wow what a bulls-up by the models, they've done ok with the western lobe of precip but have done a shocking job on the eastern mass which has actually become the dominant zone. Its still feeding SSW so it probably will extend into Wales in the end but in what state I've not got a clue!!

Don't think anybody expected things to go as they have.

As far as I am concerned, South West Wales has to be out of the running but it'll be interesting to see where there's accumulations of snow that wasn't predicted to get it!

Yes Kold very embarressing for the models and the met ,the central UK supposed to bare the brunt but they have missed most of it ,The front is now deepening by the time it reaches Swales heavier downpours will occur.

Alijoe - you nicked my question! Answers on a postcard....

It feels to warm for anything worthwhile atm in west cardiff. Don't think I'll be staying up watching the lamp post tonight ;(

Temps have risen here over the past couple of hours, 2.2c now with the dewpoint above freezing for the first time today, so warm air is still mixing in at the surface, can only hope that colder air is mixing in higher up in the atmosphere, though no sign of it to be honest.

Unless those cold uppers move further west, don't expect anything but rain. Been raining here for hours at 0.9c and further east in the Midlands people have been reporting rain at 0.1c.

That silly feeling when you think it's starting to turn to snow, but then you realise it's just drops of water dripping off the overhead cable in front of the lamppost...

Sigh.

We can't write it off Wintry Wales. The snow isn't forecast to start in our area until midnight or so and the radar shows plenty more precipitation to come.

I'm certain that something will come of it, It's just whether it'll settle much with the ground so wet, and if it does how deep.

BBC news24 forecast didn't look to shabby IMBY. Cardiff/north Cardiff looking in the sweet spot if they're right. Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow (provide your own tune)

nothing. nada. zilch. Drizzle and wetness and misst and beggar all else. Even If it does start to snow now it won't settle on wet ground. I officially give up on this winter. And my inlaws are getting more snow in Kent ! Arrrrgh !!!!

Roll on the bloody spring ! :cray:
