If you live in Peterborough don't go to bed just yet. That area of snow has intensified incredibly and is aiming for Peterborough. Looking at the sat pics it appears more convective!

What direction is it heading dave still snowing down here

Send it down the Nene Valley, think so anyway. Already been excellent here tonight, just stuck my foot in the garden which still had 2-3 inches cover from last weekend. Really quite deep, pushing 3 inches or about 8cms on top from tonight so far and snowing light-moderate ahead of any heavier stuff coming in our direction. Think there will be widespread school closures in East Northants tomorrow. I don't have to commute to Bedford tomorrow, and my wife can walk to work. Happy days.

Picked up here again very heavy now might get a total of 4 inches tonight

Undisturbed snow in the back garden I have as much as 12-14cm! If I went into Rushden Hall Park behind the house or outside of the town centre towards the rural outskirts I'd imagine you can easily find those depths widespread plus at bit more. Fantastic night when the existing snow cover was starting to look a bit sorry for itself.

After a brief lighter interlude we are seeing snow as heavy as we've seen all night - probably last another hour. About 8cm tonight so far, could see light snow through until breakfast time.

It just keeps coming! Now hit the 10cm mark tonight! Some parts of the garden i've got 18cm when including the weekends leftovers! No drifting tonight. I've got the day off tomorrow so I don't care, carry on.

Fell sleep earlier here, so you can imagine my surprise when I woke up not to long ago to see it still snowing! Tracks from cars have been covered, and in the garden, we have a good few extra cm's since I fell asleep. Its also settled on main roads. Must've been rather impressive earlier on!

The last time I checked last night at 10ish we had just under the 3cms on the trusty old garden table, this morning, just over 5, so, all in all a good night.

Interestingly, it looks like as the sky clears this morning, it will get colder before it warns up ever do slightly.

Also, quite a bit more snow in the garden than out the front if the house!

Morning all,

Seems like this region did pretty well again last night - not as much here in MK as Saturday, I've just been out for a measure and the new snow fall totals 3cm but as there was still some snow left it's deeper in places.

I'm just happy not to have missed out totally, it's a beautiful morning so as I'm not working until 14:00hrs today I will be out enjoying it later.

Meantime I'm going to sit with a mug of coffee and enjoy the view out of my window :good:

Have a nice day, stay safe and warm
