Also Google / YouTube something like 'Ice Storm Ontario' to see freezing rain at its most dramatic.

More specifically 'Ice Storm Quebec 1998' - I was in Canada at that time, although thankfully in Alberta

Just had a heavy rain shower in Gravesend, very dangerous, sheet ice everywhere, difficult to stand up, still just under freezing point.

A 30 second freezing rain shower now nothing. Did little to the dusting of an hour ago but I bet the roads and pavements will be treacherous! Nothing on the radar for a while now - I'm going out to play.

Just got back in from walking the dog ... It's dangerous out ... All the remaining ice is covered with a fresh layer of snow so you can't see the danger ... Just started raining a little which will freeze on contact making conditions worse ... Gonna close the door, draw the curtains, watch crap on telly and stay in for the rest of the day until tomorrow morning ;o)

Light snow here earlier this morning which left a slight dusting. This then turned into freezing rain which i have only ever seen twice in the uk during my lifetime!

Everything covered in ice as Paul S also mentioned, roads and paths are lethal and lots of accidents being reported on the radio.

Starting to thaw now but wont be venturing onto the roads today!

It's a bit early to write winter off half way through Feb - who knows there is still plenty of time for it to have a sting in it's tail !

Bit misty here now, radar shows something over me but nothing falling from the sky! light dusting has gone from the roofs over the road but ground is still covered. 1.2c out side.

Light snow and freezing rain was forecast yesterday for the east of our region today - I was a little surprised there wasn't more talk about it on here.

Feels noticeably less cold here today, remaining ice and snow patches are slowly melting away, nice to go for a run without the fear of breaking my neck! Still feel this winter has more to offer for us down here, maybe no freeze, but I could see a few surprises in late Feb/March.

I see the model output thread is descending into the usual mix of bickering/ end of winter/ IMBY posting. It's the one thing that lets this forum down for me, all very child-like. I can understand the frustration of anyone in Scotland and Ireland, for whom it's been a poor winter for cold and snow, but I find it a bit of a head-scratcher when someone is actually jealous of another area getting snow, most bizarre.
