Then the rise in temps tomorrow night and the thaw finally kicks in for the south!!

Yeah, so make most of the snow! but i don't expect a fast melt really, anyone think so? the thing is, these severe low temps are crisping the snow to a more harder to melt situation, and unless its sunny i don't think much melt especially with cloud and if more snow falls-which is possible this morning, and then the milder layer of air over the cold ground/wet/snowy is likely to cause dense FOG, so i would think staying cold, although a milder air flow should warm things up next week-well compared to what we have now it would be noticable. Woke up to a noise on conserv roof.

Grauple,then i think a bit of rain,now light snow.

Dusted the roof tops etc again.

We still have tonnes of laying snow and the piles that people have made when clearing are not getting any smaller.

Fog beginning to form across London looking out the 10th floor of my office in Hounslow, some very light ppn in the area - showing as sleet on N-W radar - temperature still -4C.

Nottingham sounding at midnight suggests a warm nose of air below 900mb working south above the surface layer of sub-zero. And the forecast skew-t for London for 9am suggests this warm nose pushing down this morning too, so precip could turn to rain before it hits the ground.

Though snow initially as per reports and it could stay as snow depending on whether the warm nose can push south quick enough.

Well we have another dusting but it really cannot work out what to do

Biggish Snowflakes (Indicative to marginality kicking in) but interspersed with freezing rain, graupel and bit of ice falling.

All pushing through SW - Should be done with soon though

Decent size flakes here now... As it is well below freezing, it's settling on everything!

now stopped! Looks murky up to the North Downs, not sure if that's mist or snow in the air.
