Rugged = rough.

I know, u were just trying to be polite!

What happened to that Dan weatherman ("little troublemaker") and all that?

Lol I wasn't trying to be polite. Surely..rugged = rough around the edges. Which she is but still lovely :)

-6c already at 7pm. Surely on way to minus double figs and coldest night here for years. Still a fair amount of snow from last sat night fall ( had approx 16cm ).

Snow is forecast Sunday morning for SE coasters in Kent (see NAE), and freezing rain (see GFS hi res) for Sunday morning for London and Essex, very interesting and extreme stuff forecast within 48 hours.

Was -6c at 7pm but risen a bit to -4.5c now. Perhaps won't see -10 after all

-6c now. -9DP. The Oregon thing seems to think it will rain. On the plus side, it appears to know what time it is. Remaining snow, a few inches, is pretty frozen now. and icy where compressed even a little. Ponds have been frozen over for almost two weeks. Luckily, no fish in there at the moment.

quite surprised at how much has melted today around here. Thought temps were low enough to maintain most of it. Still very icy where the sun hasn't reached with quite a depth to the snow. Don't like this stage though as walking about takes much longer. You just can't tell where that very slippy bit is!

Either way, we can't overly complain round here. Another decent cold spell with snow lasting for a week and cold for 2. It was only a few years ago that we'd have been euphoric over this. Just shows how things have changed round here the past few winters. Hopefully we've seen the back of the days of getting excited over 2cms of snow that all thaws by lunchtime!

A bit excessive! ;)

An interesting stat... Tomorrow will be the 40th day with lying snow in Reigate since Feb 2009!

Can't complain with that stat considering the baron years before that.

I must say we have been spoilt over the last 4 winters. I've had two snowfalls of over a foot and 4 or 5 other falls over over 6 cm.

Almost becoming normal to get snow in winter again.

I know... I'm 31 this year and I remember jan 87 and Feb 91... It was cold in 95/96 but apart from that, winter 09/10 had more snow days than 92-08 winters!

What might be worth keeping an eye on? I'm afraid I don't understand the charts, so some information when posting would be appreciated :)

I must admit as someone trying to learn more, I find it quite frustrating when obviously well meaning folk post charts with a vague comment attached. It would help so much more if they could expend at least a little more information. Im not having a go, just saying.
