moderate burst in Hailsham. Proper size flakes. Laying on roads and pavements quickly. Topping up the few cms still left on the grass.

Looks like some more snow heading our way for north coastline and north east coastline of Kent in the next couple hours or so... will wait and see. Nice end to the cold spell.

Hi Coast. Proper moderate to heavy snow now. Without being too IMBY I'd rate this as an above average winter for us now with snow on the ground for over a week. Especially considering some of the snowless dross I can remember for several years pre 2008.

Yeah, not turning out to bad eh? Just going to check the radar to see how long this is set for, but the ground is already covered again on top of a lot of lying snow - not bad for tropical East Sussex eh?!! :drinks:

Radar looking good as big blob is heading along the coast currently. Also looks like more to come a little later from over the water in the flatlands if we're lucky!

Woah, woken up and here is some snow about to hit Brighton it would seem, with low temperatures and dew points it could stick, nice surprise :)

Oh I am missing the snow! But then again sunshine and temps of 18c is very nice too :D Keep up the reports so I know what is going on back home :)

Had to laugh as I thought 'she's only 1 mile up the road and its chucking it down here with 50p sized flakes???!!!'

I'll save some for you in the Red Lion car park!!!

What is freezing rain ?

Rain that turns to ice as it hits frozen surfaces, very dangerous as it creates sheet ice on roads and pavements that cannot be seen.

It is what caused over a hundred accidents a few days ago up North on the roads as vehicles just lost control on icy surfaces whilst it was raining!

Freezing rain somebody correct me if i am wrong, starts off as Snow melts on the way down as it falls through warmer air, becomes supercooled water as it goes through cold air again, and when it hits the surface freezes
