expect some very potent downpours almost anywhere ,keep a camera at hand , and enjoy ,regards legritter

Thanks! Had a look from the Library window, CuB to the South West, clouds seems to be moving very fast. And it's quite windy for Cardiff.

Had a few heavy showers here but can't see us getting anything thundery here today, some nice convection over the Bristol Channel though!

Met Office seem to be expecting rain to be rather nasty in this region for example mentioning any brightness will likely spark off torrential downpours. The warning also mentions possible Thunderstorms.

Okay, I'll try and push another hour in the library. good.gif There's some brightness coming through the windows, good sign for convection.

showers holding there intensity as they cross land..Will these last into the night??

If they do, it will be mostly rain and lack thundery activity.

Noticed that some storms have formed just off the East Kent coast recently looking at the Atd, looks like a trough immediately behind the cold front clearing has generated some heavy showers over the SE corner in last few hours as the rain cleared.

Had a downpour of hail about 10 to 15 mintues ago with a tiny bit of the white stuff settling on the grass for a time. Looking at the radar, these two intense blobs seemed to have merged together as they just passed this area.

That's what I thought, yet Thunderstorms at this time of year can still form at night, or continue... they did for me and some areas the other night.

That thunderstorm you had the other night..Formed AGAIN over my house! I watched it on the radar... Would it be the fact that there is some raised land nearer me that can aid convection?

A friend just said, Thunder and heavy rain north of Heathrow....

That would be of the shower that just hit me..TYPICAL! HAHA!
