Here's the cell that just passed north of Birmingham and is heading this way...

post-3392-0-21505100-1334682281_thumb.jp

I've been watching it for a while now, but it's lost some intensity on radar and also has had no recent sferics.

It still looks very menacing though, so I'm not losing hope yet.

looks like the one that came over me, heavy hail, squally wind, hail even sticking temporarily, but short shower

Maybe I should of posted about this in the world wide weather section but I thought more people would see it here,I would post the link but phone being a pain in the backside,on talkweather a US weather forum a girl is being called a liar as she claims to have found a 4 n a half inch hailstone, the story can be found in the general weather discussion on the forum, sorry again for not being able to post the link, back here in bristol just the 1 heavy shower most of the day has been sunny, would like to see something tonight but not holding out, maybe tomorrow will deliver...or not.

Looks like the best of the heaviest showers are developing inland with some localised thunderstorms otherwise Southwest England and Wales chance of seeing quite heavy rain later on this evening

We've had a lightning strike about 7 miles down the road from me, but that was a passing storm.

Looks like theres another one just to the W of me.

helll yehhhh got my name on it I hope!

Just been out to watch that come over, was going to head south toward Basingstoke but stopped on the S edge of Reading as it was coming quick! Look really good on approach, even blue sky ahead of it with a bit of a shelf too. I would have been watching when those sferics happened but I didnt see or hear anything. Either I was too far north or it was IC and too far away. None the less was fun.

Was about to say its fizzling but its regrouped and it about to smash London, wouldnt be surprised if you Londoners get a proper storm!

First shower of the day here at the moment - pretty heavy to boot with a thick bank of cbs visible behind the rain curtain. Perhaps this is the start of things to come tonight.

Just a general observation, none of these CBs seem to be going anywhere. They seem to lack height, unlike the ones last week which pretty much where structures. They seem very flat hence the lack of Thunderstorm activity, nevertheless a onionse load of rainfall today.

Looking at some in the distance compared to the ones last week, they are fairly low topped CBs. With relatively medium level bases.
