Thunder reported in SW Brum now. Radar shows some nice cells developing right over us. Could today finally be my turn? :D

I think the lack of sunshine and no extra warmth is not helping here. It has been damp and grey all day so far. Skies look kind of thundery to my West and building nicely but at the moment not expecting it to 'kick off' where I live - perhaps better for areas east of me later this afternoon. At least there is plenty potential for the rest of this week by the looks of things...

I have had one rumble of thunder and no lightning this year! one rumble in the distance and that was it lol A rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning is NOT a storm in my book Lol

There have been some nicy juicy cbs to the west of here with very dark bases while the sun was out but all that is now hidden with low cloud again - makes it very hard to see what's going on.

Just a usual boring cold grey rainy day in Yorkshire today. Don't think there is much chance of anything. A storm passed just to the south yesterday. Finger crossed for the rest of the week. Good luck with any storms today

Nothing much going on here at all, and yet i'm under a warning. Had a massive 0.4mm from showers today.

By definition, I count one rumble of Thunder heard or Lightning observed as a Thunder day. However, as you say hardly a storm by definition but yesterday's storm did involve more than one rumble. We will get some good action this year; I can feel it in my bones, although that could be my mild case of arthritis. tease.gif

Whatever the definition, you own the club JL along with Phil, so maybe you should past your hosting responsibility to someone else, so that you get all the Thunderstorms you deserve. good.gif

Best of luck for today guys n gals.

Cheers

Hi Bugganuts,

It is the same here, if that is any consolation. lazy.gif Not enough warm sunshine in between the showery bits here either and very little Lightning showing up so far on the radars either.

We shall see and what will be, will be.

Cheers

Got some very heavy showers in the vicinity after 40mins of sunny intervals. The clouds are turning dark greyish blue with lots of ragged scud at low levels. Starting to look very stormy, just waiting for it to go bang.

Very messy picture outside, more akin to a gray wet day than a sunshine & showers scenario.

Seems to be plenty of convection now kicking off north of the LP.

The low seems to be moving quite slowly now and i can only assume the speed that the air is being pulled south is helping with northern initiation.

I would expect stuff north to keep growing and slowly be pulled south / south eastwards over the next few hours.

Anyone got a reason why East Anglia have a warning? I've been look at models and I don't see anything different in that area than any other area. ie storm potential.
