Another brief but very heavy downpour with a little hail. Moved on through now.

Heading my way Vince? Not had any thunder, but recieved some pea sized hail in a torrential downpour 15mins ago. Sky to the SW over buckingham out towards Bicester is black and menacing.

Very messy picture outside, more akin to a gray wet day than a sunshine & showers scenario.

Looks out window, see's the above... too! Sits back down thinking that's it for today.

Anyways, I can't really complain with the amount of storms I've had this year... and its only mid April!

Looks like ESTOFEX were near the actual today with the main action so far being France and most of that was the Channel. A couple of hours to go I guess but most of what I've seen for the UK was rain and occasional hail. Been chucking it down here in Sussex on and off all day.

Still a whole season ahead of us!

Amazing image here, the last 4 hours accumulation from the NW Radar clearly showing how the rain is rotating around the LOW!

Seems to be brightening up here with not many cbs around any more. The stuff up north has also weakened a bit.

Indeed, it also shows much of the rain and showers have been just been light to moderate. (Ref post 290 above)

Its not much better here. Mostly low claggy stuff, with the odd shower dotted in between.

Going by the latest Television forecasts, it may well be much quieter down our way tomorrow, with only isolated lighter showers in the South West!

Most of the showers are forecast to be further east and north tomorrow!

We have had heavy rain all day today, i would not be surprised if we topped 25mm. I am holding a bit of hope for seeing something over the next few days, although I may have to chase to see it.

From the 'looking out of the window' observations, there appears to be some pretty hefty rain dropping about 2 miles to the SW of me, and there appears to be more heavy stuff queuing up behind it, but whether or not it comes up towards me, or more towards John Holmes I don't know.

No show I'm afraid, just one rumble and that's all. Still the rest of the week to go.
