Warm/hot Spell Discussion 22nd May Onwards

Pembrey Sands has also now hit 28C, as has Shannon in Ireland, could possibly be a record for there.

Still on the beach in my lovely home town of Blackpool! I believe we maxed out in between 27-28C, not sure though, enjoying it too much!

Blackpool has reached 26C so far this afternoon.

A welcome breeze has picked up in the last 30 mins, I guess those maximums have been achieved for today now?

We reached a high of 27.2C today, now slowly dropping currently 26.4C. Hope tonight is cooler than last night was!

The Cumbrian coast is warmer than Fuerteventura, now that doesn't happen very often (if at all) lol approaching 28c now.

I suspect they are quite relieved there after the heatwave last week when they reached 38C.

A max temp of 19.8C here in the end, which is still 4C above average for the time of year.

Id suggest its more likely your sensor is in or being affected by the sun. Every official station in Yorks/Humb and the North-east are at 17-22C apart from Boulmer at 15.0C.

Yes it`s much cooler down the Eastern side today in that Easterly and as expected the heat still quite strong in sheltered western places.

Here in the Middle it`s perfect for me -low 20`sC crystal clear blue sky and a refreshing breeze.

I could take this untill Autumn.with just the odd rainy/showery day to water everything.

Says 18c on xcweather for Loftus.

28.3 the max here today.

Hottest day since July 2006, and the hottest May day in my records going back to 1996.

I also understand that the May temp record has fallen at Bournemouth airport, 27.7 today beating the 27.6 reached in 1989. That latter figure surprises me as I would have thought 28c would have been reached in May in the past at some point, though their records only go back to 1957.

27.7c a St Bees Head!! WOW! that is unbelievable really, id be shocked if it hasnt just broken its record for May! What a wonderful day its been, has never been this hot since 2005 i think. I look like a tomato

Hit 27C here today, yesterday was actually cool in comparison at only 22.1C, the warmest may day here since 1993.

I listened to Radio Cumbria weather and she said since records began for the month of May.

Again a split picture, here at 160m, sunny all the way, but at sea level locally, a lot of hazy conditions with some light mist, but with the sun poking through, a bit more cud for a time, midday, but after the breeze picked up, glorious sunshine, and the clearest skies for day, Max Temp in Mumbles 24c, and here probably a few degrees warmer, A warm humid last night with temps at Mumbles rising up to 20c at midnight, the warmest of the day.

Tomorrow looks glorious as well, before the breakdown on Sunday.

Any thoughts on this wind - will it be stronger or not tomorrow? Seems like its got stronger as the day has gone on. Just trying to decide if I need to take action to stop my greenhouse flying away!

It got quite strong here, too, it was gusting near 30mph earlier. It still felt lovely today - doing more garden work still made me sweat slightly, the sun is strong so no surprise. Crystal clear visibility and low humidity - perfect.

A max of 24.5C today, not quite as high as yesterday at 24.8C

I was telling people I know gales for fri and sat, this wind been underestimated by bbc weather, this wind is strong but not a breath coming through the window
