Beautiful morning but the clouds built up quite quickly here and now we have very light rain!

Story of the summer!

Very humid out there, my room is recording a temperature of 24.4C and I'm sweating! Here's to wednesday and thursday, hopefully there will be something to cheer us all up :)

More hazy than sunshine now. Still dry though.

Temperature gone down a bit now that the cloud has rolled in, puts a tear in my eye (not literally) when I see a beautiful morning eroded away by cloud from the West.

It's not cold out there though, the temperature is 17-20C but feels like low 20s because it's quite humid, although I would like to see that high sun more often.

Just another overcast day here with wall to wall cloud. Slightly warmer though with the temp at 22.4c and a dewpoint of 17.3c. The threat of storms coincides with my rest days so I am charging up all the batteries on my cameras and laptop, and getting prepared for a chase day !!

I'll probably set my limits to within about a 50 mile radius of here, depending on the forecast and prospects nearer the time. Is anyone else thinking of chasing ??

Had a few (literally you could have counted them on both hands) big spots of rain earlier, the temperature has dropped to 20 degrees but with the DP at 16 and humidity 78% it still feels quite warm out there - I'm working in a very pleasant 23 degrees with a gentle breeze coming in through the open window so no need for fans in here !

I would be if I wasn't working from 2pm on Thursday - I will re asses where any storms are when I finish and possibly take a run out if anything is likely to kick off in the late evening around here but won't be going any further than Dunstable Downs !

It must be quite frustrating chasing storms in this country.

I can just picture a rare supercell forming on a Sunday afternoon some distance away from my location and then being totally frustrated by Sunday drivers and ranting inanely in their rear view mirror.nonono.gif Or else something happening during the week and going down a dual carriageway and shouting at lorry drivers etc saying "get out of the outside effing lane, you w^#1@r!!!!"diablo.gifmad.gifdoh.gifwallbash.gif

Slightly tongue in cheek above, but isn't our road system a very serious limitation to storm chasing?

I have a pressure headache just come on. That's usually a sign of storms in the area. :)

You make a very good point there Speed67. Chasing is practically impossible in this country for the reasons youv'e stated. It won't deter me though !!

....for those who don't know the one on the right is Paul Sherman (the other one is related to me) who we met along with some other mad chasers at the top of Dunstable Downs last year - didn't see a storm though, sadly this one was a bust !
