Crackin afternoon here. T-shirt weather with the sun out from mid afternoon onwards.

BBQ now coming to an end. Few beers already consumed, still a few remaining in the fridge...

Drystane wall building complete! Went at it hell for leather yesterday and finally, the last vestiges of extension building no man's land in the back garden are now consigned to history.

EDIT. Just a wee bit ae compost tae add and it's ready for plantin in the spring.

Awfy pleased with masel, obviously......

Lookin' good SS...very rustic! You were better off than us in Fife then as it didn't break here until around 3pm. Quite disappointing really.

Looks a lot better than the mudbath you were showing us last year!

Jolly pleasant day here after a grey start, got 18C with a bit of a breeze, nice afternoon smile.png for a beach stroll with give_rose.gif

Up to 19.7c here this afternoon. Felt pretty warm in the sunny bits. Unfortunately meant I had to get on with loads of jobs in the garden instead of really enjoying it. Warmer again tomorrow maybe but will be at work.unsure.png

We need cats here too to keep mice and rats down and a fine job they do; unfortunately they also catch a vast number of birds - sparrows, blue tits, coal tits, greenfinches, siskins, thrushes, blackbirds are regulars, they've also had pigeons and one oystercatcher wacko.png (as well as bats and rabbits). So I'd happily strangle them sometimes but then all they have to do is roll over, close they're eyes and squirm in that 'tickle me now darling' way and all is forgiven.

Your two grey ones look very cute too. Just don't get involved emotionally eh, not that a farmer ever would!!

We have a huge Tom (not fat, just f3ckin built like an ox) we got as a tiny kitten (had no idea he'd grow so big) from the abandoned pet home in Edinburgh. He's damn good at mice catching (1860's cottage mouse free) but thankfully crap at hunting birds.

We also have a resident hedgehog in the garden which the cat appears to tolerate, I suspect because he attempted to 'play' with it in the past and learnt a valuable lesson.

Looks a lot better than the mudbath you were showing us last year!

Aye, being able to walk from the car to the back door without wellies is very pleasant to say the least!

"Back door companions. Cold and wet outside post-2744-0-86628500-1346655228_thumb.jpMost of the birds on the farm nest and live in the eaves of the steading or house and are very inaccessible to the cats.

Nice dry morning 15c overcast and breezy"

Nice day here after a greyish start. Wind has picked up a MPH or 3 though.

Our cat keeps the farm's next door rodents in check. They become entertainment at 3am in our hall way!!! She seem to like Shrews the best.

The warm and sunny conditions earlier in the afternoon was a nice surprise but the rainfall as forecast has arrived and there's currently that classic dull, heavy looking sky that comes with atlantic depressions - a lot darker now too than it was a few weeks back.

Seems in the US they're two sheets to the wind, in 'Britain' it's 3 sheets, but for Scotland? Maybe 'yin kilt tae the wind'....? Certainly could be the case on a day like this...

Sun out here most of the day so far, but that fairly stiff breeze takes the warmth away / is a bit of a kilt lifter...

Weekend looking like it could be fairly warm. Fair bit of cold air now beginning to pool up greenland way though.

Aye, the nights are fair drawing in.

Lovely day here, been doing the washing for going back to uni and it's been perfect for drying! 30mph with occasional strong gusts and sunshine :)

Just been looking at some FI eye candy - loving this Northerly:

The greedy beggars were still there today...

Windiest day for a long time today, went for a stroll on the beach and got thoroughly sand-blasted. Dies back now but only after half-shredding the runners.

Inverness' weather station was reporting "Widespread dust blowing" all day, what was that about?

Yes very windy indeed(Equinoxial gales a few weeks early) with long sunny periods and made it to 18c. Nerves shredded as some heads of barley started to come off at around 1.00pm but consolation was barley was fairly dry.Started off with one combine this morning but as can be seen ended up with two. post-2744-0-84919800-1346795462_thumb.jppost-2744-0-55770300-1346795385_thumb.jp Just finished, barley 75% cut with only two less ripe fields to do at the weekend. Straw still green and therfore wet so did not blow too much

Inverness' weather station was reporting "Widespread dust blowing" all day, what was that about?

Probably newly sown fields of oilseed rape ,we had whirlwinds of straw taking off every so often behind the combine

Dunno, I didn't get off the sand bar all day, but even in the streets here it was dusty - maybe a lot of debris had accumulated because it's been quite a while since a proper blow like today.

It looks like it's going to be a nice day today, where did I put my beach towel and bronzing cream rofl.gif

I got down to the beach and jolly nice it was too apart from los turistos littering the place. When will they learn that when HC approaches... ah, just caught myself in time there! Clouded over now but still pleasantly warm.
