So you think elderly and infirm people are 'grumps'? Just you wait!

Yep :D Na, not literally everyone who doesn't like the snow :)

Frost is mentioned in the met office forecasts for tonight, it must be nearly Autumn then...

Looked quite heavy :p Really that rain here was just your fairly standard cloud and rain (although did look dramatic as it was coming in) Didn't stop for about 3 hours though

Distinctly autumnal outside much fresher air now at 9c with a clearance across the Firth to the north which reminds me of arctic air coming south in the winter so a big change from the very humid warm wet conditions of the last few days.

Confirmed as cold air just below freezing on the top of Cairngorm this morning at -0.6c. Currently dry, overcast and 11.2c here

Settled day for a change. Just been to Dunblane for the gold mail box, and a trip round the cathedral, was distinctly chilly in comparison to last few weeks.

One word to describe today's weather........GREY!!!!

We got a good few blue bits mixed in with the grey so not too bad after all.

Great afternoon after a dull morning with blue skies and sunshine currently 14c. Barley now going white a sign its is ripe Hope we get some dry days this week to cut some of it. Neep tops are nearly 2 feet high and they are looking great. Amazing the effect a warm month has on growth. High cloud spreading in from the west now.

Nice sunny day after a grey start but certainly not as warm out. Hmmm... now cloudy again. Ach well. At least the bees are busy on the runners still.

telephone boxing rain has moved in again.

You want to mind your Lettuceing language or you'll be up onions creek with a moderator hanging off your dog biscuits.

Nice end to the weekend with a couple of hours of the HP stuff kickin in as the most brief of ridges did it's feeble attempt north..

August surely the best of summer so far and nailing it's credentials with another couple of hours of sunshine.

RIP Neil Armstrong.

Alternating heavy/light rain this morning here. However, the models are apparently agreeing on a nice, settled, warm spell for next week. There is a God!

As predicted, rain and wind!!!!!

I do hope your right Blitzen, as it is getting very depressing. Not bothered aboot heat now, just a spell of settled dry weather would do.

There is no God, Blitzen, else why do we have gorse?

Model thread folk (the few left who haven't shot themselves) seem to think September will be fairly benign, but I'll believe that when I see it - the Atlantic will have more to say for us than for those way darn sarf.

Meanwhile it's raining. Even here we've had over an inch since Friday.

Quite nasty rain crossing over now. Defo not a day to sit outside!

Yeah, it was quite wild about an hour or two game but it's calming down now but as ever on days like this, there's still the that typical sky and look you associate with atlantic fronts.

Bursts of rain all day but we have missed a lot as hills to south have sheltered us.Very windy with strong southerly winds and currently 16c. Even a day like this helps to ripen the crop in fields which are still a bit green.

Went out earlier after the rain stopped, looking for some sky-based inspiration. Found nothing, very poor attempt at a clearing-sky type sunset. Found myself drifting towards the offie instead!
