Not a bad day here, sunny early, cloudier around middle of the day and brighter later. Had a high of 22.7c...if temperatures are on the rise I'm looking forward to my week off next week drinks.gif

Edit: just looked at weather station and it was warmer than I'd thought!

I used to hear similar stuff in Lowestoft area very often. Like distant thunder rumbling. May have been USAF bases around there. It does sound eerie though.

Didn't really sound like HAARP to me, that seems like more of a constant noise whereas this was just rumbling at regular intervals. I don't really understand HAARP to well though so what do I know! aha.

Whatever it was it certainly sounded like thunder and was coming from the west.

Hmm, the only possible place whereit may be thundering is Ireland as far as I can see, but I'm no expert. But would the sound of thunder travel all that way?

I am intrigued.

Normally you can't hear thunder from more than about 10 miles - sound travelling at roughly a mile every 5 seconds.

Trying to work out what HAARP means...

i would take a guess the noises are related to jets practicing due to the olympics

might be wrong but seems feasible

Cheers for that MK. It's all very odd and I first heard about these so-called sky groanings and moanings back in April. Much of it sounds just like the Smoke Monster in Lost. :D

No lightning strikes detected, only ones where over Ireland around that time with a couple over S-Ireland, but wednesday there could be some thundery activity around.
