The precipitation over Wales I feel will be the start of it all, I'm having a punt and guessing that the area in the two black lines will see activity increase because that's where the CZ lies at the moment.

Ach, as the hours tick inexorably by, so my hopes slowly diminish :(

The models may handle this well.

This is at 21:00 - http://www.weatheron...=0&WMO=&PERIOD=

Notice the precipitation over Wales, it is the same as the radar. Also notice the shower activity over the midlands, this is the start of widespread development.

http://www.weatheron...=0&WMO=&PERIOD=

Precipitation increases and so does the showery (perhaps local thunderstorm) activity.

At the peak you can see a perfect line of torrential downpours across the Midlands. So the hope is there!

Just not across the South-East

The models may handle this well................

Thanks for that Perfect Storm.

As you say, it looks as if they may have a good hold of it....in the past 15 minutes a heavy shower has just popped out of nowhere south of Coventry.

I am quite doubtful that any heavy rain later on this evening will necessarily be electrical, diurnal cooling isn't going to help.....

I think there's some sort of CZ (clouds moving in several differing directions?) running east-west over here, but as soon as anything interesting forms, it dissipates again...Fingers crossed?

Thank you!good.gif The clouds are going round in circles. And I think I just heard three distant rumbles, out east...

Thunder just started to the north of Bedford, heavy rain now falling.

We seem to be at the end of the line stretching towards the west

That'll be what I heard...

Yes RP, the clouds seem to be moving in all directions. I was outside with a metal shovel and decided to make a quick retreat inside rather been a lightning conductorrofl.gif

Yes i think we need to wear hats with the words weather watcher at work, seems to be a slight movement north according to the radar, police helicopter just gone over at a low level, not sure I would want to be up there at the moment.

I hope you remembered to put some clothes on before you went out and waved a shovel in the air? good.gif
