Warm here too, still 17 degrees C outside and quite stuffy in the house.

Won’t the warm tropical air wrapped around the area of low pressure still make it humid this week but just unsettled ?

I get the feeling the tropical air will head well to the northwest of us, but I guess with this type of weather set up it's very difficult to predict? I still think we've more warm weather to come, after the cool down this week, although that's just a hunch on my part and relying on model predictions in FI.

The funny thing is that for all the wet summer stats, Colchester only appears to have recorded about 1 1/2 inches of rain since late July - the ground is definitely getting dry here again. Looking at the Countryfile weather forecast, I didn't really see an lot of heavy rain potential this week in SE England either (apart from maybe one chance, which might have been on Wednesday, with a rain band slipping SE over us?) as the low pressure areas generally seem to be going way to our north.

Again though, there's the caveat of the hard to predict tropical system influences, which could change everything.smile.png

trying to get an idea for next week

up to thursday it will be a lot cooler with temperatures mid teens maybe slightly higher

there will also be noticeable winds making it feel even cooler

wind more noticeable on wednesday

showers possible monday and tuesday

heavier rain on wednesday and chilly

on friday temperatures back up to low to mid 20s and slim shower chance

saturday looks hot mid to high 20s

same as sunday except sunday has a shower risk all be it low

monday and tuesday look high 20s and dry

after that temperatures back down to normal and wet

best i can work out here and expect changes still to happen

Nice cool breeze tonight. Might mean better sleeping conditions. It's been a real mafter (as we say up north) today. :o

Aside from that, I'm looking forward to some cooler days and nights :)

It did rain intensively around 6.30 tonight but there isn't anything convective forecast, are we sure it was thunder?

Mornin each. Cooler this morning thank goodness. Cloudy over to the south and clear blue right above but sunny. Actually, It's clouding over as I type.

Had my first veggie Jal Frazie last night and couldn't finish it....far too hot. :o Hope you enjoyed your chilli, Steve. :) âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡âš¡

( Can't spell Jal Frazie but you know what I mean lol)

I think, with Indian meals, the more you eat, the more you can tolerate heat - obviously you have to persevere with eating a meal that you feel is a bit too hot though. Jalfrezhi is my favourite curry dish, although I'll occasionally eat a phall, especially if it's my first visit to a restaurant...

I'll never eat balti, tikka massala or korma though (although korma was my staple dish when I first went to Indian restaurants).

The rain that I was thinking might be the heaviest of the week and which I said I thought would be on Wednesday, is actually the band going through here overnight. Shows how attentive I was yesterday!

We've got a pretty stiff breeze here, which is probably why I'm finding it refreshing. Hopefully today should be okay, if not spectacular - probably good walking weather, as long as there are no showers?
