mmmmm frontal snow thursday

still changing wacko.png

It's a step in the right direction, been in the model thread today and it's all up and down.. Apparently the trough which would cause all the problems may get boxed in or something and we have a battle ground on our hands...TBH...I don't care about models anything until about 6 hrs out and radar watching when it comes to snow..

really stupid and please don't slate me for this but...

There are a lot of lakes rivers streams ETC that showers can pass over..Can that pep them up? Say a shower follows a river..Like a thames streamer

The showers can pep up due to a relatively warm body of water meeting very cold air, the precipitation can then spark up due to both extremities.

No, in spite of what that suggests, it must be at least 80:20 percent in favour of the uppers being far too warm. lazy.gif

Here are the said uppers showing the situation at t+72.

Just had a moderate shower of.....Rain and Sleet for about 2 mins, 10 mins ago. The annoying thing was, I could see snow blowing about from way up in the clouds before turning wet as it hit the ground.

My weather thingamebob says 3.1c. I've found a local weather station site that says temp is 2.3c and dewpoint is -1c.

Would I be in with a chance of snowy stuff if the yellow blobs hit me?

It would be good if we could kill off the pest from the west....

I believe the GFS is showing a little snow from the weakening occluded front that moves in on Thursday, introducing the milder air as the front passes through:

By the way, I hope you all had a good time on Saturday! :)

It was me, MK! Along with other poor rhymes, in one of my late evening posts yesterday.

You can add 'Clowns from the Downs' to the list....
