Then again, could we see a few flakes before the inevitable rainy mess takes hold?

I will not post any more of these charts today as one may get in trouble, they are all yours should you wish to take up a netweather extra full package. good.gif

The reason I ask is because showers are sparking over land now...If they move from the North and go over a warm body say a city this too can pep them up too?

The urban heat island effect (UHI) can also have an effect, especially during the summer months where showers always seemed to electrify over London. This is why an easterly is better for your location, warm body of water and a UHI.

really stupid and please don't slate me for this but...

There are a lot of lakes rivers streams ETC that showers can pass over..Can that pep them up? Say a shower follows a river..Like a thames streamer

This is very encouraging, there is a blocked drain in the road and it's just to the north-east of the house. A bit of precipitation, a north-easterly flow, passes over the drain then..... BINGO!

Seriously though Surrey, lake-effect snow is a known phenomena, have a look on Youtube and you'll see some amazing examples

Particularly across the great lakes of America. The Great Lakes are infamous for delivering huge totals to North-East America, especially Buffalo in New York state.

My weather thingamebob says 3.1c. I've found a local weather station site that says temp is 2.3c and dewpoint is -1c.

Would I be in with a chance of snowy stuff if the yellow blobs hit me?

What's yours reading now milly ?

Sudden, intense rain/soft sleet shower here in Benny Hill then back to boring nothingness.

Temp here is 3.8 dewpoint 1.1 .I want Snow sad.png

I do too, but bar a miracle, I will have to wait until Thursday, with even that being most likely a few wet flakes.

I get a feeling that the models are starting to firm up on the event now but a lot can still happen in the next 72 hours.
