Hi guys smile.png could someone quickly update me on what the models have shown today, as I've been at school, with no way to keep up! Especially snow risk for Somerset tomorrow?! Thanks smile.png

The models show that Ian Brown's blowtorch is smashed!

Models show a big band of PPN to affect large portion of the country between 13:00-19-00 on Monday.

GFS looks to be following the ECM! biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

The ECM will be following GFS at this rate.... A much improved run with the low sinking further south and high pressure building much better further west.

Thanks, always good to see! Was this an upgrade from the runs from yesterday?

totals 15CM +++ from the first low monday - which is followed fast by another at 102- plus the upper air cold pool is right in the east-

Cracking run-

WATCH FOR THE SLIDER AT 130/140

Hi Steve,

Fantastic GFS so far a major snow event is on the cards for the bulk of England and wales on Monday with significant disruption certain if it comes off

Another spell of heavy snow for the North during the Tuesday morning rush hour spreading south during the day

latest frame shows high sinking south, not great as its between azores and euro high which might flatten things out from late wed /thur, but lets see what next frames bring as h.p might builg again north north sea.

Lovely 12z so far upgrade at 78hrs (yes I know Im a little behind) very similar to what the ECM is doing and sending that shortwave S.

My heart is beating a little faster now that I am excited lol!

Heights around Svalbard definitely looking better on this run than on the 6z. I think this will be a run to savour!

LP already heading south at T+72!

no heights what so ever around svalbard my friend.

marginal at t102 for the south.

Not sure what i'm looking at here but i see that their could be a major snow event for the majority of England and wales. Can anyone enlighten me on the chances for Eastern Scotland?

Certainly a better and more progressive run regarding the potential snowfall for Monday is concerned, shame the easterly drift is looking more and more sorry for itself regarding potential snowfall but I'll happily swap a half hearted easterly attempt for Monday's potential fun and games!

Wonder what effect the low pressure system/shortwave to the South of Greenland will have on the rest of the run.

@SteveMurr is looking more likely that this run we may see the 'wedge' of high pressure over Iceland, like you were hinting earlier on..
