Having just read a fascinating multi-page UKMO analysis for Fri-Sat.... we're no clearer on outcome. In summary: frontal ppn extension NE on Fri v v uncertain albeit expected almost entirely as snow accompanied by Sig windchill; extended 4km models prog 10-20cm snow Dartmoor etc with falls up NE to Mendips but detail untrusted at this range. Of greater significance perhaps is more active frontal push later Sat, more meridionally orientated as per EC, with leading edge snow at least but again easterly extent into Sun uncertain. A truly fascinating and high stakes forecast challenge all round..

Looks like they are expecting a reaction to the orographic lift from the Downs. Might just get lucky sitting on top of Bluebell Hill

Having grown up there I know this happens a lot more than reported. All areas around there like Lordswood, Waldersalde always benefits from a little upsloping snows

Steve check the latest radar returns. I thought the same thing but it seems to be backing S/SW again..

Looking like north kent will be getting precipitation in the next hour, if its heavy enough it could start as snow, hence flakes here at mo, which would bring temp/dews down as has occured in essex.....

Could it be those showers in the Hull area that are said to be coming down to the north/east London area on BBC forecast or is this wrap around going to suddenly move more West? Seems north Essex has been the place to be so far this winter lucky gits! ;-)

Looks like there's a trough developing towards E Scotland/NE England at the moment

I'm not so sure Steve, I think there's a chance the eastern third of Greater London could see some. It's heading SSW imo.
