Right...just about to leave work...what do we all reckon the chances on Friday for our region and when do we think the action will start...I am going for heavy and persistant snow Friday midday through to Saturday evening 20cm+ !! Basing this on nothing more than the fact its I want to happen so I can build a snowman with the kids on Saturday and go sledging. :-)

Edit - Didnt see Coasts charts (honest!)

Not sure of the source think it might be a poster on UKWW quick check yes some called Matt D says...

Some of the latest models coming in (GFS 12z, UKMO GM 12z) suggest a further trough disruption during Friday, with a shallow low pressure centre forming on the triple point through the English Channel on Friday PM. This would have the affect of weakening the frontal precip over Midlands, Wales and northern England on Friday PM to the north of this low, while enhancing it and prolonging it across SE England, Cent England and the SE Midlands on Fri night and Sat morning.

Just went to buy some of those burgers on Tescos Online....it's easy, click on "burgers", and then click "add to cart".

Wattisham is leading the way at the moment. Was recording -7C at 5pm!

Local radio was saying today that Debenham in Suffolk recorded -15C last night. Quite possible as it's in a valley and has god snow cover. I think it was Steve M who said earlier somewhere in East Anglia may see -18C tonight. That's cold even for Scotland!

I did hear a funny one regards the helicopter crash, but seeing as people lost their lives not sure if appropriate, even though not directly about it, but here goes, if anyone is offended please delete it.

BREAKING NEWS: Arsene Wenger has just announced 2 major signings for Arsenal...they were due to be arriving at the Emirates around mid day by helicopter!!!

Ooops that's me. Wattisham recorded —8ºC last night but I think it was def —10º here. Thank goodness I got all the cats inside last thing. The next few weeks might turn out to be a case of being careful what you wish for. Look out for your elderly neighbours guys and gals.

PS I'm not being sniffy about the jokes, but I've run out of my recommends quota.

Hi folks

ECM & UKMET seem to be massive upgrades for a very prolonged very cold and snowy spell.

If we get a mid atlantic ridge set up middle of next week this winter could become historic.

Lovin it clapping.gifclapping.gifclapping.gif

Current temp at home is -4.5, RAF Wittering, which is about 4 miles north of me is showing -7 and Peterborough weather watch, which is based about 7 miles south of me is recording -2.3. Huge variations over a relatively small area.

One things for sure though, it's b****y FREEZING out there!!

Despite the recent news, Tesco says that their beef burger sales remain stable........I'll get my coat.

Infact I need my coat....it's -5.5C here currently and dropping well!

So they contain a bit of roughage

But the BBC weather says —3º/or 4 at 6:00am tomorrow and 0ºC during daylight?

WTF??? Last night it was —15ºC in parts of Suffolk. Why overplay the temperatures?

-6.9C here now.....shivering within 1 minute of being outside...and I never usually feel the cold.

Friend of mine is recording -8.1C down the road where they have deeper snow cover.
