People here need to chill out a little - game on, game over, upgrades, downgrades and so on.

There's a front coming across the region tomorrow, how far that goes and what it delivers is changing from run to run, even at <48hrs out.

The PPN charts are always to be taken with a pinch of salt, this was always going to be a now cast situation and still remains so. Whilst admittedly it looked far better we still look to be seeing at least something, and for an area that rarely gets anything it's not to be sniffed at.

12z has extra balloon data and variables factored in, this run will be the correct run, not just because its what we want to see, but because it ties in with the met office forecasts and especially the warning, expect upgrades from met office

To be honest BT it is completely at odds with the current METO output. As you rightly say though - expect upgrades - if (and only if) the same solid daytime data factors into the UKMET global and local hi-res models and produces a similar output - here's hoping the GFS is on the right track and the METO follows suit!!

bbc news 24 at 1530 seemed an upgrade for the region

C.S

I mentioned that about half hour ago that from 3pm onwards tomorrow it was showing snow right over the northwest whereas the two other forecasts for much of the day before that was showing nothing at all for our region :)

We may well do BT, it does happen, however the GFS is the wrong model to be looking at for precipitation on a small scale like our neck of woods, but do think we will all see some falling tomoz. alot of this now is down to nowcasting and radar watching to see where it goes....its upon us

Quite clear to see this is a significant upgrade in snowfall potential for the whole region by the GFS! smile.png

Lets hope this trend continues!

A few grains blowing about in the air here now. Certainly looks to be an interesting couple of days coming up!

Yes let's hope it's right and the METO models pick up on the same trend!
