So frustrating, I live near canbridge and had barely anything compared with the rest of the country, everything seems to stall and miss us either to the west or the east! Expecting about 2cm today at best

Snowing like crazy here in CMK. small flakes but loads of them blowing in a gusty wind. Everything turning white quickly, if it gets heavier then we are in for a blizzard help.gif

Probably not technically...

A blizzard is a severe storm condition characterized by low temperatures, strong winds, and can include heavy snow. By definition, the difference between blizzard and a snowstorm is the strength of the wind. To be a blizzard, a snow storm must have winds in excess of 56 km/h (35 mph). Additionally, blizzards must reduce visibility to 400 metres (1,300 ft) or less and must last for a prolonged period of time.

.......but it's really coming down here now, and everything is white !

On the GFS 06z look great for Sunday for whole region.

Re today, seems like the very "heaviest" of snow doesn't quite make it further West than say M11, maybe even M1.

However I am wondering if perhaps the front is already a little further ahead of where it was progged to be and therefore the heavy stuff will cross the M11 line.

Thoughts?

I've been peering (face right up to the glass) out of my window to try and catch the first sign of snow and can now report a few grains...

It's a good job my office overlooks a W.I. building and not a school, as I'd probably be nicked!blush.png

I think it's what you call the snow shield. Flat areas don't do as well

Snow is getting heavier here, can actually say it's now classified as 'real snow'

Snowing a lot earlier than I thought, pavements covered and grass not far behind, its very light at the moment so can't wait to see what the heavy snow will bring! :)

Still nothing of significance, very light snow, and it's definitely easing up a little. Seems like a split on the radar on where the heaviest snow will fall.
