The few grains that were falling have stopped. I'm actually wasting time looking for something that won't be significant here for a while. Best get on with some work till lunchtime. :)

Steve, PMA...

I am in Colchester and had reports of snow in Romford 45 mins ago, Witham 20 mins ago.... so we can expect some within the next 10 mins by my estimation.

Still nothing of significance, very light snow, and it's definitely easing up a little. Seems like a split on the radar on where the heaviest snow will fall.

Much the same problem, most intense precipitation is both north and south of us in terms of the front. We've probably had about a cm or so though since 8.30.

Looks like we have plenty more to come over the weekend and into next week cold.gif

I think this could be a very long cold and at times snowy winter .....

So frustrating, I live near canbridge and had barely anything compared with the rest of the country, everything seems to stall and miss us either to the west or the east! Expecting about 2cm today at best

I went to Cambridge last night — all the snow and ice had GONE! but just about 5 miles out, it's still lying on the ground. A bad case of urban heat island and being 9 metres asl, we're out in the sticks and we've still got loads although it's melted a bit at the edges. Needs refreshing.

Anyone have a ETA for snow in Ipswich?

I'd take a guess at between 2 and 3?? That said, it's snowing already!good.gif

Well, we might not be in the prime location to get the heaviest snow, but we are well placed for the longevity of it, and we're currently well placed for Sunday's snow event too. Still light snow falling, maybe 1cm so far.

Snow here is slowing down, looks like the heavy snow stalling point could be just West of Stevenage.

Expecting the main event to hit around lunchtime and early afternoon. 30kt gusts expected. Juat had a look over the airfield. Snow settling on a few of the stands. Good gritting and deicing though.

Slight issue for us in Herts is , those Western side may be quite well place. For East Herts, the real heaviest of snow rate, never quite makes it to this location at least from NAE and GFS, or at least not for the same length of time.

The key might be if the PPN is a little further advanced than the 06z model which in that case if it is, then about 12 onwards should see a heavier rate of snow falling for a time.
