Just had a look for Barnsley, and the same amber for snow.

No, Its Amber for Yorkshire. However if you then click on the warning map, it shows you which areas are in amber warnings.

On the METO 5dayer for Penistone, yellow for icy roads and amber for snow, its only just gone on as it wasn't there an hour ago.

If a warning covers a small part of Yorkshire it will cover the whole of Yorkshire on the five day forecasts so it's to be ignored.

The radar shows some heavier snow to the north of Lincoln, which will hopefully reach us soon.

The front was never forecast to do so for your area.

Convection from the North Sea which is set to really kick in within the next few hours and begin pushing inland is where you can expect your snowfall.

check the latest meto warning?no easterly pushing in.snow showers moving north east and we stick with the residue of the"front"

Look at it carefully, starts around Scarborough Northwards (ie just North of here), but they've left a small gap between the orange and the yellow - poor peeps!!!

Pretty uninspiring forecast on news 24 just now, not showing much for anyone really with Sundays low showering just the coast with about 5cm of snow. Of course i know this could change.

Don't worry about missing out swfc, I'll fill the boot and bring it to Hillsborough tomorrow. That's is if I can get there - half hoping it's called off.

whens the big event move in then hahaha

The "big event" of today has not been forecast for your area for the last 2-3 days, light and patchy front slowly dieing out, with convective heavy showers of the North Sea to follow overnight and throughout Saturday. It's going entirely as forecast.

:)

We really have been so unlucky in what is usually a pretty snowy place. Slightly heavier at the momentp

Go on the regionals, type in barnsley and you'll see the amber warning, same for sheffield. Its due too their forecast heavy snow

for 9pm tonight and 9am in the morning. I wouldn't of made the comment if there was no amber warning.
