This is my road in Brighton about 30 mins ago. Not the prettiest winter seen but you get the drift! Talk about 'drift'... the winds are quite strong out there, I can't remember seeing a snowfall so blustery! It's coming down quite heavy too

Still moderate snow here, snow depth around 4cm, maybe 5cm in places. Temp slightly above freezing now as it is starting to drip outside.

Looking at the satellite, it looks as if the frontal zone is nearing it's stalling point. The cloud pattern suggests it will shear apart gradually, with the northern part pulling away to the N whilst the southern portion will slowly sink away to the SW. So the snow looks set to continue over the SE, into the Midlands and Wales but with decreasing intensity as the day goes on.

Think I will go and get a paper before the snow turns to slush on the pavements!

Temp -1.8C and DP -4.3C here near Croydon.

Snow seems powdery in nature, as it seems to blowing as powder off roofs with the slightest of wind gusts.

Same here in Shirley but slightly colder at -2. Steady fine snow falling with about 1cm on roads and pavements, the only things I can see are the grass areas and drain covers.

Light to moderate persistent snow for about 20 minutes now. Settling on everything pretty quickly. Have to say I love this type of snow compared with the stuff that fell for hours on Monday and barely stuck.

Haven't had chance to check the Models but are we on for round 2 on Sunday?

Tom . Any chance of squeezing me into your draw . I'm in Orpington .

Last one though, I'll find you an opponent.

Ok Keke (BROMLEY COMMON), about as local as I could get!

A further little competition for you all. " The London & S.E Snow Depth Cup" ( 1st Round).

Taking Paul S's list order for his sweepstake, I've compiled a draw of matches, based on your snow depths come 21.00 hours Sunday evening. All you need to do is measure your snow depth at that time and post in this thread. NO CHEATING PLEASE.

Winners of each match-up, will go through to the next round. Should no further snowfall oppurtunities occur in our area for the rest of the Winter season, greatest depth of snow at 21.00 hours on Sunday 20th Jan. shall be deemed the overall winner.

Daniel, had to put you in, to give Sniffer Mark an opponent!

Keke, same applies, hope that's ok.

Remember, measure your depth at 09.00 hrs on Mon and post result. No cheating, no Kentimetres, TOWIEmetres or such like, just cms!

It would be an idea if you and your opponent, keep each other posted on how you are doing depth wise, if any.

Just a bit of fun. Enjoy.

Regards,

Tom.

That must be it now. Quite happy to extend measuring time until say 9 a.m Monday, if that's ok with everyone!

If it all melts, che sara, sara but it gives the whole region a fair crack of the whip.

Can you guys decide what time measuring depth should be, as long as its a fair and democratic solution, and post what you've decided by midday, please.

Must get off to work now.

Regards,

Tom.
