All the rain/snow cleared now so I guess that's the end of it (tomorrow night's will be rain) nice finish to a spell that has been disappointing snow wise

Snow now appears to have finished. The steady drip of it melting off the roof of the house. If it freezes tomorrow will be interesting.

Best snow we've had here since the famous late Nov/early Dec 2010 spell. Heavy snow today and this has probably been the best 'breakdown' spell in my time living in Dundee - 13 years.

There's approximately 8-9 inches lying in gardens, not all of it came from the breakdown but some of this came from the heavy snow showers on Wednesday.

In the city centre there's much less and it's amazing the difference a 20 minute walk north of the city centre produces at an elevation of 100 metres.

The pic of the snow up to my shin was taken in a public park.

All in all, a great day and even got away from work early! biggrin.png

Some pics.

Great place for skiing and socialising!

Here snow dying down and turning sleety. Teen daughter just in with her pals from sledging so warm towels and hot chocolate at the ready.

Glass of wine for me though!

Ah I'm headed up that way at the weekend. How are the roads at the moment? Driving up from Helmsdale to Kinbrace on Sunday and not sure whether I'll need the 4x4 or whether the winter-tyred car will suffice.

Well Well Well !!!!!

A Solid 10 hours of almost Heavy Snow here in Dundee today, almost rivaled the winter of 2010 !!

Must be well over 8 inches of new snow, and unexpected, in my eyes. Im in the Menzieshill area of Dundee....

From what I can see on radar the snow should be finished but it's still going. Surely one final flurry now?!

Well there seems to be another band (cold front from fax?) on the radar coming in, although that's more intense (seriously intense is it snow?) in England. NAE has snow going through to 6 am in the E borders with a bit of altitude.

Seeing ss's new addition to the family made my wife instruct me to post ours. The first is gala the new cat showing the dog who is boss by stealing her bed. Dog then had to sleep in cat basket.

Back on topic. Dry here now. Temp up a notch to 0.8c.

Up till yesterday a 4x4 was advisable but the road was almost clear this morning. However there will have been a bit more snow today but I don't know how much and I don't know what it'll do tomorrow. Not a very helpful reply, sorry! (But it was fun hammering through drifts of unconsolidated powder at speed earlier in the week. Poomf!!)
