Well well I take it all back what an awesome end to the cold spell with evening of sledging and snowmen and snowball fights with kids running about in snow up to their knees....this is one breakdown event that has given fond memories

Looks like it from D&G traffic cams away fae the coast where it is already making inroads.

Despite the lack of snow here in the south side of Glasgow I have actually enjoyed this spell of cold weather. Yes, I would have loved to have seen more snow and who wouldn't have in the west? I don't begrudge it when I hear of fellow kilters enjoying snow as I know the joy it can bring to fellow posters and family.smile.png

The models have been all over the place and By-Tor summed the whole spell up very nicely and said sod the forecasts/models and concentrate on now casting. Maybe not his exact words but you get the gist.

We have had warnings when they were not warranted and no warnings when they were. Those of you who missed out and I include myself in that crowd. Your time will come. Might not be this winter but it will.

We live in a complex and beautiful country that can't please everyone under one set of synoptics. Enjoy what you have even if you don't like it and if you don't then you don't have far to travel seek out what the majority of us all crave!

Bring on the next cold spell.cold.gif

Since snow stopped the temp has risen from 0.6c to 0.9c but the snow has gone from being pretty wet to now crunchy.

Anyone know why this would happen? Dew points perhaps or some sort of ground cooling?

I guess both of the above. The water suspended through the damp snow probably also drains out the ice to the ground I would think. Probaly a combination of all.

Any thoughts on the band out west? Defo something again forming.

That other developing band on the radar does look a bit suspicious does it not. Wonder if we will get another hit? Glasgow folks will find out soon enough I suppose.

Go to more reply options when you start writing a post then use the 'attach flies' section at the bottom. Works with all sorts of smelly things as well as pictures.

Well

Well the way I do it is to save pics on my camera to my pictures folder. Select more reply options on your posting site

The way I do it is by saving camera pics to my pictures folder. When writing a post I select more reply options, then select browse. This then takes me to My Pictures and I click on my picture preference, click save, attach this file, then click add to post.

Was thinking back to earlier in the day when the snow was at its heaviest. You could feel the cold of the east wind and just for a while it seemed like it was back in 2010 and I thought that the block might fight back, but alas no :(

It is certainly developing and looks to be moving east. Any reports of new activity in the west?
