How far north are we likely to see some snow. Here cheltenham glos cant make out if we are under amber or not ??

I think you'll be ok, there's a lot of it. If you go back half a dozen pages ( 9.30 ish) in the thread someone posted ppn charts going into weds, looked good for our area.

Definitely much more snow than rain now!! Quite heavy too. Only bummer is the ground is now wet from the rain so it's unlikely to settle

Note the absolute stunned silence from the Poole and Bournemouth fraternity. I empathise, it's a real downer being on the coast on days like this fool.gif

It will always settle if temp dips enough, regardless of wet. Give it time!

Still rain here, all of our lovely snow people in the garden are getting smaller.

Your being very negative today?! acute.gifacute.gif

Some low lying areas of somerset already reporting snow so I think your neck of the woods will do fine! acute.gif

I'm touching a very large piece of wood at the moment.

Temperature in Southampton is currently 1.5 degrees (feels like -2) with a DP of -0.4. . . . . . . Sky looking grey here, should I be expecting more rain than snow? :-(

1.9c here wallbash.gif so not quite what netweather says (-4c) so I suspect their suggestion of 70% chance snow 6pm onwards is dubious too... Course, that is assuming the weather station page I use is correct - never occurred to me until now that it mightn't be!

Anybody out there able to give me some hope for more proper snow later in my area? We still have a lot lying but the thaw is evident on roads.

I'm not going to cry if we don't get any. We had a good amount and the kids were able to make full use of it with sledges at the weekend.

I haven't claimed a yes or no yet Sungirl but please do watch the radars, and follow the percipitation type posts where at all possible. This event could lead to a very difficult rush-hour later on.

Just to emphasise to people, Winds are due to switch to NE'ly this afternoon, brining in colder uppers. This will increasing turn the PPN from rain to snow later.

I've had a high of 3c and hour ago, been light rain since then and now my temperature is 2.1c. Clearly evaporative cooling is coming into play.

temperature is dropping, gone down from 2.9 to 1.4c so i shall see if this rain starts to look more wintery soon.
