It has made it's mind up here - nothing but rain - heavy rain.

I was sure it would end up like this. The NAE looked great for the West and Central Midlands but the GFS was having none of it. I had seen the GFS get it right in these borderline situations before when the BBC/Met-O were going for heavy snow here. The GFS got it right on more than 1 occasion when the NAE/UKMO were ramping it up. Sadly the NAE has got it wrong.

Quite heavy rain and gusty winds here now. This is the Atlantic winning on it's 4th attempt to break down the cold. That's pretty good going I reckon! Nothing to be sad about at all!

Wait for it people!

Had rain and hail in Shrewsbury, thawed everything to a soggy mess

Half hour of heavy snow big flakes and it's a white out.

It will come your way! All ill say is take care, our council (normally top dog with gritting) have been caught out its white everywhere

Thankfully this has happened now, during the day the country would be at a standstill looking at the beeb!

That rain washed all the grit away I expect, very unusual for snow that began as rain to stick in Shrewsbury. Eased off now but still snowing, about 1cm fresh snow which stuck everywhere

Yes that's the best way of looking at it I guess. Always disappointing to be on the wrong side of a marginal event however, especially one with so much potential.

I know and I completely agree...but think of how many we've been on the right side of marginal over the past week!

It's turned very 2012 out there!

Totally in the dead zone here, temp has risen to 1.3oC, no sign of either snow nor rain! However having had all the action last time, not that bothered!
