That sounds about right for your area. Everything else of note likely to be to the North of you and during the late evening but gone by tomorrow morning good.gif

Thanks Coast good.gif

I have faith in the Nae model. It has been pretty good with snow events so far

Its all been down to one thing- how far west the shortwave drops across the south of england-

the best runs overnight are the ECM 00z at t24 ( which still has -3 c uppers over the SE at midnight )

this alligns with the NAE-

I think there will be some snow overnight- shortest lived to the south & west of london, longest to the north & east-

maybe depths 2-5cm out that way- with trace - 2cm further into the south & west-

you never know maybe a few surprises- but could go either way

John Hammond just said amber warning coming for north London also said big question for south east as a whole but there will be some snow. Sounds like maybe like a short term upgrade maybe

Hi Morning all

Looking at the radar I was surprised to see the coming ppn heading across the country towards the East,I had thought it was due to come from the NW.I can see why no one wants to gamble on the type and distance it enters our region.I think if you expect rain you can only cheered up if and when you get some white stuff.

Roll on the Febuary reload...

We're picking up a SE'ly wind off of a pretty chilly continent...could be more snow than I originally thought.

Yeah and general rule of thumb .. snow can fall up to -1c at 850Hpa and thicknesses can be as high as 537dam as the air is dry and very cold

A big difference to this time last week when colder and drier air was pulled more and more off the continent as the snow approached. This time the band of precipitation has cold dry air ahead of it which gets pushed away as the snow/rain approaches. No prizes for guessing which one I prefer - cold breakdowns to mild wet weather have no appeal to me at all, in fact quite the oppositesmile.png

Wow but there is a big bright yellow shiny thing in the sky. Is this some freak weather phenomenen?! Certainly looks like it is going to the wire for tonight, what concerns me more is the gale force winds expected in next week.

Not seeing this for the South East at all at the moment, first band is thin and fragmented, second band doesn't look like coming anywhere near the south east!

Morning Jules! I think I'll be asleep and miss it all by the morning, not worth staying up for the potential as it won't really be around to enjoy tomorrow.

Winds are going to become a problem on Sunday onwards, look at the monster coming in stage left:
