The gritters are out on the M23, maybe they have had a warning

Looks like the NW radar is down

At 16.40 looked like a band of heavy snow was entering the estuary, now all gone from the radar, clearly all that can't disappear in 10 mins

It's the met office data not nw

Pepping up in the north sea again

Looks like that small area of ppn just on the Essex coast has been caused by a little convergence zone, in the area!

Tom

The weather man from the SW say:

It's a growing concern, given the look of rain totals through tomorrow eve, Saturday night and again Monday night-Tuesday, added to rainfall equivalent from snow melt. Cumulatively 75-100mm likely for some. Not good.

Incidentally we're not using raw 12z NAE for current forecast outcome Fri eve re snow etc. We've leaned instead to less meaningful amounts towards S'ern areas generally (E Anglia an exception) progged through GM and MOGREPS-R and will await further NAE output tonight before seeing any further tweaks/re-grading of current UK warnings.

I was about to make it 3 in a row but saw the two above before I hit paste!

Being on the s herts border, I wonder if I'm included when he says southern areas

So am I right in Thinking that for us on the south coast it's going to be rain rain and more rain from tomorrow night onwards?

If this does come off as a heavy snow event to start off with, what sort of time do they expect it to arrive over this way?

Don't usually ask these sorts of questions, as i know its quite annoying, but i am ment to be seeing my son after work and dont want to get stuck miles away from my wife, who is 8 1/2 months pregnant! lol

astonished, by this post. Gfs 12z is only 24hrs,given.showing solid agree, for up to 4/8hrs of snow for london as a whole.thats without met, latest forecasts going solid on same wavelength.london could do fantastic out of the dreaded atlantic over coming 24/38.hrs.with being east with cold holding firmer longer......!!!!!????.
