Well my local weather centre in pitsford are on a bit of a ramp not like them at all. Saying heavy and disruptive snow this evening and during the night. Monday will see the snow turn lighter. On Wednesday they return to their mild bias and are yelling heavy heavy heavy rain. Lol

it isnt a mild bias, its just the forecast, maybe an hour of frontal snow but the front is coming from NW-SE which is isnt a favoured angle and will just push past the block with no trouble

temp is around 4c and rising here in northampton....instead of falling. heavy drizzle all morning and very wet. unless the snow comes down in buckets later on I can't see this being a great event. That's if it snows at all.

i hate these marginal events. why can't we ever get definate set ups with countrywide snow forecast. It's not even as if we're a huge country, i mean its only around 300 miles wide and we still get such huge differences in precipitation amounts and types. Just a pity we don't have an alpine range in the middle of the country... and I mean something along the lines of 5000ft upwards. The ice age didn'd leave the UK with great mountain ranges did it? Even the scottish highlands are not exactly high or snowsure even in winter.

It's going completely as planned, temps are where they should be for midday Sunday- as forecast.

So much misinformation in this thread.

I'm glad someone is on the ball. good.gif

The temps are due to drop this afternoon. So far things are proceeding as forecast.

And another ! good.gif

We are infact close to the point where temps start droping. Using Stormtrack.co.uk you can see that temperature increase is now down to +0.2c an hour. A while ago it was +0.4c an hour, and before that +0.8c an hour.

I think it's change to -0.Xc an hour pretty soon.

East midlands airport weather "taff" doesnt look very hopeful of you want to see snow sticking, it looks like rain to snow then back to rain again by the morning.

Some people either:

- don't listen

- can't listen

- misinterpret

- read and believe the daily express

There is no guarantee of snow anywhere.. Equally there could be a good covering in others. The BBC and met office have Been clear on this, after initial talking up the potential

Agreed, the weather forecasts have stressed a great deal of uncertainty. It may be rain in one place then snow 2 miles down the road. Because of the marginal setup, it is going to be that kind of day/night ...

Met Office Update for you all.. my favorite part "Potential for 10 cm or more over parts of the south Pennines and 5 to 10 cm for Kent, and more locally over the Midlands and Essex. "
