Morning all.. Cloudy and 0.4c here. Raw easterly wind and achieved a frost last night, overnight low of -1c.

Since some of you live close to Maidstone& Headcorn, just thought i'd let you all know my friend is organising the ballooning side to the Southern Model Show @ Headcorn Aerodrome this September( Sat & Sun 14th/15th) http://www.southernmodelairshow.com/. We will have around 30 balloons over the weekend, including some special shapes; Bp Gas Cylinder, Panasonic Battery, Trivial Pursuit Board Game and many more.

Your all welcome to attend & if your coming along let me know and i can try and get you into the ballooning area and will try to get you a flight in the balloons for free ;)

Wow, sudden heavier outburst. We now have snow blowing off the roof and settling on all surfaces. Will be all white soon, this is happening much quicker than expected.

Flurries here, leading to blowing snow trails in the road, but nothing more.

Interestingly there is some ice in the puddles at work, even though the temperature is above zero and there's a reasonable breeze blowing (to stir up the air near the ground) Unless the temperature has risen recently, then that's slightly surprising. Could it be evaporative cooling, due to the low dew points causing this?huh.png

It is still 50/50.

We could end up with nothing, or a decent layer.

Either way the rains coming in Monday!

Looking at METO latest it seems the sweet snow for Gillingham will start around 9pm then we have heavy for around 12 hours.

I just want a deep enough layer to cover all the grass and paths.

Very light flurry here in S.E.London, just below the C.Palace/Norwood Massif. Those of you in the Snow Depth Cup, if you could give an updated hourly count of the number of flakes you've seen, please. wink.png

Now, have I shaken off this man-flu thingy enough to warrant getting to work, for at least part of the graveyard shift later on.

Who came up with the idea of floodlit All-Weather racing! diablo.gif

Regards,

Tom.

You just have to laugh...

At the start of this week the met and a number of people here said that it would be dry! Though some advanced members were more adiment that snow would fall and in some places enough for a good covering. Still the met said DRY until later in the week, FLURRIES and that's all i've bloody heard is flurries. At times they said of more substantial snowfall in kent but again the headlines " FLURRIES ". I look outside and it's proper snowing at times NOT flurries.

How is it some of the more advanced members of this forum can forecast so so much better than the met office?

Just sitting here at work staring out the window, willing myself to see snow - and I have spotted 3 snow flakes so far - honestly, you couldn't make it up.

Good to read that it's snowing back home though!

The beast from the east is more a tame furry rodent at the moment but today was never forecast to be a big day

Saturday was meant to be the main day

Fingers crossed
