Cor blimey, looks like some proper rain is on the way, almost forgot what it looked like. Looks like everything and the kitchen sink will be thrown at us over the next week or so, rain, sleet, hill snow perhaps, heavy showers, hail, thunder, strong winds, calm, frosts. Some interesting weather at last!

Report from the crows nest - a wintry mix is coming down especially with the heavier bursts and it's still flippin cold - not far away from snow again me-thinks - which should be on the cards for us starting tonight into the morning

Looking at DP, WBFL, wintry showers more likely (Hail and sleet), possibly wet snow on higher ground. Showers will be fairly widespread and heavy but there looks to be no problems regarding snowfall except highest routes. Ice maybe a bigger issue. Edited by bradythemole

As for snow potential, looks like some wintry showers, with some snow in heavies showers elsewhere.

ECM showing around 25cm of snow for N Wales next weekend. That'll do nicely.

you should know Keith that that's the way the english met office work - never any different - they haven't been putting any detail on Wales cause they know we are at risk of snow etc - but they just can't be bothered cause there ain't enough people here to be bothered about

13031618_1518.gif

13031712_1512.gif

But we are important to us - so we look after ourselves - the English are gonna get a stuffing tomoz anyway - just like they deserve - and like they deserve everyday of the year lol

Sorry but this criticism of the Met Office is nonsense, remember the snow event in January was there a warning for Wales, yes there was a red warning.

Talking about rugby is another matter, Dewch ymlaen Cymru yfory.

GFS now also showing a snow event next weekend for Wales. Worth watching as that's now ECM and GFS showing something of interest.

NMM 0.08 shows some really heavy showers tomorrow for SE/E Wales:

nmm-1-27-0.png?15-19nmm-1-28-0.png?15-19

Then for the west:

nmm-1-31-0.png?15-19

If they become wintry , like what is shown on the NAE:

13031618_1518.gif

Then places can get a quick covering of snow/hail before it rapidly melts. Either way tomorrow and Sunday are going to be really fun 'weather' days. smile.png

I also want to add that the vertical velocity goes off the scale for SE Wales, which suggest that there could be cumulonimbus clouds around resulting in hail and thunder. Fun!

Just looked at the model thread, can't believe the amount of potential on offer this late in the season!

A very rare cold to very cold March on the cards ,fasinating to see constant snow thrown up in the models Northern blocking going to be around a long time Scotland are in for a fair ammount of snow, how far south this will extend who knows ,I still think the UK as a whole will see a very wintry few weeks of weather coming up!

Latest NAE

13031618_1600.gif

And guess what - I've gotta go over Storey Arms Tonight myself to a gig in Llynfi Holiday Park, Llangorse, Brecon - better take the snow shovel me thinks

13031700_1600.gif

GFS 00z - Narnia continues right to the end of the GFS run once again - no let up in the cold at all - and potential as some others have said for loads of snow coming to Wales next saturday - a fair way off admittedly - but this scenario of cold air pushing against atlantic fronts keeps showing up again and again - potential for some heavy snow - and the charts just look like charts you would see jan Feb not march - new forecaster (well new cause I haven't seen her before) on bbc breakfast tv says a slight warm up coming next week - mmmmmmmm - can't see it myself - if anything more of a FREEZE DOWN - winter cointinues and there's no sign of any let up from my point of view that's for sure.

MINI ICE AGE IS UPON US

Heavy showers about to hit S Wales ,Yes you will need your snow shovel tonight up there Andy ,anyone with some elevation could well get a covering of snow overnight according to the met.Wintry showers continuing, heavy and persistent at times with the possibility of some accumulations of snow. Any clear spells will allow a risk of frost and ice. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Snow shovel LOL Keithgood.gif

Heavy showers moving in could see some flakes as it lowers the temperature, 4c down from 7c.
