I've found often in the mod thread that if you hear stuff like that, widespread means from the Midlands northwards, it's as if they forget anything further south from there even exists!

normally in the MOD thread, 'widespread' means London & the SE quarter wink.png

I am extremely envious of those photo's!! especially as we came so so close, even if that storm was 50 miles further north, it would have made a big difference to us and the channel islands still would have got smashed. ah well maybe next winter, or is it next week?? lol i hope not, i want to get my BBQ out now! grrrhh

I went to Sussex yesterday afternoon, it was snowing from 3pm right through to this morning, there were some impressive Drifts on the Downs, but not a patch on the ones pictured above. Very pleased for you lot down there, hope everyone is safe, especially the elderly and vulnerable.

Given my website a fresh look, would love to know what you think. Background picture is of Gylly Beach in Falmouth from last year. smile.png

Also, as Fitzwis has asked me, I am hoping to get the website registered soon. Approx 500 views already and its only been up a few weeks. A lot of these were in the last few days from the severe weather so its been noticeable how traffic has picked up and how people have appreciated it. :)

Yeah its been pretty crazy over here last 2 days. And to think that i had shorts on last Saturday !! Luckily for me work has shut at 3pm the last 2 days and when was my shift due to start ?? 3pm !! lol.

Will be venturing out to get more pics in the morning in my fwd car !! Was in a pickup today and was restricted as there was 3 of us cramped in a 2 seater !!

Just such a difference between the two ends of Guernsey. Top half is no more than 15-20m asl and the bottom end is 80-102m asl. It really is like a different world when you drive up the hills. Pure carnage. So, so many trees down. How no one wasn't injured or killed is beyond me.

From Ian;

"A bit less cold by Fri/Sat, but wet & windy; next week has every likelihood of return to cold conditions... no mildness in imminent sight."

Some amazing pics in there. Well this cold spell proves snow can last more than a day in southern England, didn't have masses yesterday but the shed and lawn still 80% snow cover.

Looking at the models, it seems a very cold pattern is now entrenched, we'd need to get pretty lucky for more snow here next week but models at T168 do have some hope. Otherwise I really hope we get out of this cycle into something much warmer very soon!

Yeah the ECM Model at +144-240 hours sends the low pressure over the Country further South allowing really Cold uppers to slip back in at the same time causing a Widespread Snow event for all even the South , I have been told mogreps shows some agreement with this , but It is still nearly a week away and I am not going to hold my breath just yet.... In the mean time , Showers continue to look wide spread across our region tomorrow ... It could be the calm before the storm or it could be the last flakes of Winter... But will see you all tomorrow .. Good Night Snow Hunters :)

Absolutely not a sausage here in Kingsclere, North Hampshire. Not even a flake. I'd like to see we 1 final chance, but I'm not feeling too hopeful

Lovely pics Dunlop Dave, thanks for sharing :D

Right cold, either snow or sod off!

Unless you are just spearing us with cold and dull to set us up for a gorgeous late spring/summer, in which case you can fill your boots! :D

I took the dog out for a walk earlier this evening and saw a snow flake or two, I guess that counts as another snow day this year for me, 3 so far this year now !!!!

Latest NAE continues to highlight a wintry mix coming down from the north tomorrow afternoon;

post-12721-0-47322700-1363132465_thumb.jpost-12721-0-11266600-1363132479_thumb.j

Rain more likely down at lower levels but some sleet and snow possible over high ground.
