I could do with a holiday. Really must organise a trip storm chasing around Europe before this season is out.

Looking at the NMM surface convergence one could quite reasonably see the line of Channel Island storms start to extend up towards the IOW and Southampton in the next couple of hours. Then slightly drift towards Dorset.

Now if we were back in the 80s or 90s, we would be getting that right now.... :/ Edited by East_England_Stormchaser91

Some good cells forming around the Channel Islands currently. Worth watching where these head to.

Look to be following the jet loop path, back around to the South

In a line from The Wash to Southampton is where i'm looking at the likelyhood for storms, looking at the way the trough is developing. The cells in the channel isles moving SW whilst building up eastwards in the channel, classic signs of surface development along a forcing mechanism aka the convergence.

Those in the home counties would be worth keeping a eye and ear out past midnight.

Even though the cells in the channel don't have the highest precipitation rates; they are still trying to hold out.

That thunderstorm in Germany is ferocious, constant lightning. I can only dream of storms like that.
