My bet on the northern extent at the moment would be around the Wash area and a bit westward.

I think Lincs, Leics, Notts, Derbs could be in with a decent chance with S Yorks having a slight chance but obviously a lot can change.

I'm hoping to get an early finish and maybe go chasing on the afternoon/evening.

If you are planning on chasing then you could head south if the northern extent ends up not reaching us, as at the moment some models have it reaching us and others don't. Hopefully a better idea by Wednesday morning.

Those of you in the east and south east could really be in for something special on Wednesday;

If I wasn't on a training course at work it would definetly be worth the £100 petrol to drive over there. Damned that I have to be on this course.

In a general sense, GFS's overview is encouraging to kick off with for early doors tomorrow:

Limited to France in the early afternoon, I hope it does spawn some home-grown or imported stuff later in the day:

Some interesting developments on the NAE for the SE:

The activity is due to kick off around Wednesday morning with a band of showers moving up from France:

Once the showers hit land, they look to gain intensity with a squall line developing from London to Norwich:

Before moving away into the North Sea:

So if you live in eastern Kent, get down to the seafront , take your telescope and enjoy the distant flashes over France lol.

Probably the start of something now developing over France (arrows only for reference to direction of movement of the cell)

Sferic spotted in S.Wales, is it a false one or is lightning travelling from France to the UK?

Also the cell over France is now producing sferics.
