The met office invent shows them heading north and intensifying. Guess this is our chance Midlands folk, its now or never.....

In terms of what we've seen all day since this early morning, those cells across the Midlands are about as good to go as anything. Relatively 'flat' surface area to cross until they hit the pennines at least and well within the convergence zone possibly aided by outflow from the trough across Yorks. Still moving north so the next couple of hours will definitely be the 'make or break'.

those thundery cells are heading due north and will affect Penkridge, Cannock, Rugeley & Stafford within the hour.......oh, why did I move house??!

Is it just me or is that patch in northern france starting to expand westwards and northwards according to sat24? Probably just me and my bucket of hope!
