Been working in East Grinstead today where mid level cumulus formed but never really got past the small cauli stage. Good to see the cap being broken further west though. Now back home and today is the tenth day this month that 25ºC has been broken and fifth consecutive. To think that we have struggled to get above 21ºC the last few summers!

Yes it will go down as a notable hot spell so far, and to think it could get hotter for another week, just shows how cool the last six summers have been.

Second day in a row my post-school run plans to sunbathe have been scuppered by cloud - this despite the car temperature showing 32 on the way home. It will be nice to get some storms as compensation, although would make for an interesting walk to son's trampolining. Hot in the office today - it is an 'eco' building that is supposed to permit a cooling airflow in hot weather... which only works to a reasonable extent most days, but today with lorries, waterers and various industrial equipment outside in preparation for the graduation week, all the windows had to be closed in order to get work done... scorchio:/

still think it is the old boiler...

Who are you calling an old boiler Posted Image

Sorry about the off topic posts.  Hubby has wiggled a valve in the airing cupboard and it's gone off.  So you were all right, thank you for trying to help, I just didn't know what to wiggle.

So as you were. I hope the I get a huge crack or even a little rumble.  I'm too hot at the moment.

Milly you should know better than to say something like that in here...thankfully Mr Coastie has gone off duty or heaven knows what he might have suggested Posted Image

Nice to see some of you are getting some storm action - I'm off out for a bit of a rumble myself now Posted Image

Got the iced water bottles in the freezer to take on the drive to Devon tomorrow.

I love how people are complaining now that it's too hot and they have had enough. Probably the same people who in a months time will swear blind we haven't had a summer and be demanding the sun put in an appearance!

The storms seem to be popping up in a very narrow line moving roughly north east to south west. Try this link and zoom out

28.8c max here, not a good idea to make pasta in this weather as im sweating again

Prawn salad for me tonight. I made the mistake of making a beef curry (mild) last night. I was sweating cooking it and sweating eating it. :-D

Whispy clouds here with the brightness of the sun glowing the sky. No threat of anything here ATM. Which was good, as I was able to spend a couple of hours over the park with wife and children playing ( I only managed that, as I sloped off very quietly and early from work today 😈)

I think I should have done the same with my two, as they are in bed now but are still full of energy.

I swear this hot weather gives them 25% more energy, they are up there now both laughing their heads off!!

If anything it's made me and my wife tired, our boys are in their bunkbeds where they have been for the last 45mins still chatting and mucking around. All in the life of parenting haha. Looks like we will have tired children in the morning (and for me again) 😄
