With the current activity...I'd want to be in Reading, London and possibly Oxford right now...maybe even Luton and points north east later on.

As for the rest of us...who knows who'll see developments next! Still very messy here but certianly giving it a better go at building.

Will these cells that are popping up, remain as ts? Some look headed towards Northants. Do they just peter out, or remain active until they head out over water?

Yeah everything is pushing more NE than I thought it would but overnight the movement should become more northerly. Meanwhile the latest image from here....

The centre of town, near the IOW ferry terminal. The sky is looking quite volatile in all directions.

Indeed...still a bit of half-hearted effort here at the moment. Still quite large patches of blue in the sky too. Thnk we're getting closer though. If it goes...it will go very quickly indeed!

Convection looks rather weak in South Bucks at the moment, and it appears that the cap is too substantial at present. There is scattered alto cumulus castellanus and it feels muggy.

Say, how much do I bet that the inevitable Northern-France MCS is a Kent-Suffolk clipper and the storms tomorrow are west of me over cotswolds, west country way?!?!

A bloody lot! Haha, oh I won't be surprised if we get damn all but for the moment I'm slightly optimistic for once, I reckon we'll see something at least.

Besides, last Wednesday's pretty isolated light-storms developed right next door to me and I had a grand view of the rapid convection and growth of a Cumulonimbus. That was kind of lucky, makes a change Posted Image

Cap breaking to the east of Crawley. It's taken it's time but the cumulus is starting to tower upwards. I will be in a covered threatre for the next hour do I hope any storms are after that!!

Actually I think those cells will head south of me as they are clearly heading NE as opposed to N. Best bet would be on the M1 between Luton and Leicester to catch these.... about an hour away.

Starting to think that based on current activity alone...the eastern half of the country may be the place to be this evening and tonight.

That's only based on what's out there now. All of us on this side will find out what's in store for us in due course!
