- not meaning anything personal but have you read the forecasts and looked at the charts that people have put on here? Not everywhere will see something but its tonight and overnight that things are "forecast" to get going and yes as you said tomorrow.

I said major probably meant widespread as I think for that we will be on hold till tommorow. I wouldn't rule out one or two places seeing a bit of thunder and lightning this evening. :)

Can i give everybody a tip here (not the money one!!) But i say this year after year.. if it tooooooooo misty or murky to spot any cloud tops/CBs etc, just stick on a pair of sunglasses and then everything is a lot better... trust me it somehow works

Haha, I did that for years (when we used to get regular storms) and you're right, it works a treat.

Well just watched the local Beeb forecast here and in true style it was "thundery showers overnight with the odd rumble of thunder" and for tomorrow "heavy downpours and maybe some thunder mixed in and local flash flooding" - well Beeb you can stick that forecast if all your doing is predicting flash floods - gimme some thunder and lightning and you have a deal!

Starting to think that based on current activity alone...the eastern half of the country may be the place to be this evening and tonight.

That's only based on what's out there now. All of us on this side will find out what's in store for us in due course!

Now there is shock! East getting storms when they were shown to be in the west ,Saying that, BBC have got it right though now on there latest forecast for here, slight risk of isolated thunderstorm Yawn , In other words bugger all will happen this evening and tonight

Ah but did you see the 6pm news bulletin? Jay Wynne is a very conservative forecaster but Tomasz really ramped it up with 'dangerous storms' and 'record breaking minimum temperate' night.

I need to see this forecast - mind he is great like love his enthusiasm!  I am hoping for a light show at some point but thing the main pulse for us up here is tomorrow night.

and on a side note latest News 24 with Tomas had some storm this evening but most arriving on the south coast tomorrow morning but he did say it won't be a big mass of rain he said there would be pockets of rainful where some place could see a lot of rain and some seeing little same about lightning some may some a lot some won't see very much but winds will be very gusty and rain will move north through the day
