I'd be pretty gutted if we missed out on the storms here, the spine of Northern England seems to be in perfect position.

Really robust looking towers out to the distant east, and an ever increasing smell of... poo... in the air. Ooh I love living in the countryside!

I agree:)

ACCAS more noticeable as the visibility improves here, its been quite a hair-tearing day with the low cloud that's been hanging around but finally there's near-perfect skies and plenty of opportunity to come overnight.

That storm in France has exploded on the last 30 min loop to the NE of the lightning core, maybe SE clipper for Kent later?

Cloud really building fast all around here now, feels like it's ripe for a storm.

I'm driving up to Swindon at 3.30am, hoping to follow the storms as I go!

Can i give everybody a tip here (not the money one!!)  But i say this year after year.. if it tooooooooo misty or murky to spot any cloud tops/CBs etc, just stick on a pair of sunglasses and then everything is a lot better... trust me it somehow works

I mean we've got clouds that say "could get a bit stormy later" but nothing that's "impending wrath of Zeus" over Verwood. Just wondered how different it is those 10 miles south.

The first little cell only pepped up as it passed me. It's over Salisbury now giving decent deep rumbles ever two minutes, or so.

I've just lit the bbq, so it's only a matter of time now until the end of the world.

Misty here and feeling very steamy. Even though the humidity is only at 69%. Can't see any medium level or high clouds though because of this blanket of mist...

I think things are on the turn here...starting to look a little more organised to my west.

Storms with thunder and lightning just starting to initiate around the Salisbury area. This is the beginnning of the evenings entertainment I think.

Do you think we'll have a storm in the Cardiff area?

Sferic in Salisbury. Tomasz now the duty forecaster on BBC N24, I couldn't think of anyone better to guide us storm fans through this evening and tonight.

I am planning an all nighter, maybe even a chase should I need too.

Interestingly the winds have turned northerly within the band of showers from Poole to Swindon but are southerly elsewhere, what does that mean?

Wind convergence!

Must be the one that I have photographed, it is over your direction!! It`s still building. Gone very dark upwind of here.

Thank you, just not seen it set up like that before with winds at 180 degrees alongside each other.

Lots of cells going up in southern areas now, and these are set to move north. Maybe more to develop too through the coming hours.
